Welcome to Pankhurst Paintings
This HMS Ark Royal painting 'All Quiet at Twilight' was the first of Julia Pankhurst's maritime paintings, and the catalyst unearthing her passion for painting the untameable, ever-changing mood of the sea.
Julia's 2nd painting 'Farewell Ark Royal' was unveiled at the decommissioning ceremony of HMS Ark Royal, it captured the poignant moment of Her last journey into Portsmouth through the freezing fog, early December.
These two paintings, her links with the navy, and her shop (now Barbers shop and gallery) led her down the path of 'Naval Artist'.
Julia Pankhurst's preferred medium is acrylics, and her paintings are praised mainly for their depth, contrast, and lifelike qualities, drawing the viewer in.
